Rhea Jean Jenkins-Arrington, a beloved matriarch and lifelong resident of Xenia, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on June 3, 1946, to William and Mittie Jenkins, Rhea was the heart of her family, bringing warmth and joy to everyone around her.
Rhea's life was a testament to love and dedication. Her home was a haven where family and friends gathered, especially on Sundays, for her famous dinners. She was an exceptional cook who always had a meal on the stove, ready to welcome anyone who walked through her door. Her laughter and the music she cherished filled the air, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
An avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes, Rhea's enthusiasm for sports was infectious. Her love for fishing was equally passionate, often seen with a fishing rod in hand, enjoying the serenity of nature's embrace.
Rhea was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Arrington Sr., her son Kevin Leroy Jenkins, and cherished grandchildren Kenya Ray Arrington and Kendall Jenkins. Her great-grandson, Kevin Jenkins Jr., and siblings Eddie Isaacs, Cora Lee Watson, William Jenkins Jr., Willa B “Snooky” Porter, Ella Mae Jenkins, Lonnie Jenkins, Walter Jenkins, Tezzell Jenkins, and Melvin Jenkins also welcomed her into eternal rest.
She leaves behind a loving legacy in her children, Kenneth (Amber) Arrington, Kent Jenkins, Keena (James) Arrington, and Kenese (Doris) Jenkins, all of whom reside in Xenia. Rhea's family extends to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews, including a special bond with her niece, Victoria Porter. Her many friends and extended family will forever hold her spirit close.
A celebration of Rhea's life will be held on August 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, located at 1120 S. Detroit Street. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory and share in a service that reflects the love and laughter she brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Rhea's memory, allowing her spirit of generosity to continue touching lives.
