It is with profound sadness and tender memories that we announce the passing of Rhaygann Christine Schell on July 28, 2026. Rhaygann was a bright light in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Born on May 23, 2001, in Fayetteville, NC, she graced this world with her presence and left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path.
Rhaygann was the cherished daughter of Kendrah Mason Smith. She shared her life with two devoted brothers, Matthew Mason and Julian Schell, whose love and support were constants in her life. Rhaygann's family was her foundation, and she was surrounded by the love of her grandparents, Raymond and Barbara Mason III, and her great-grandmother, Gay Mason. Her extended family included many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.
She was preceded in death by her beloved great grandfather, Raymond A. Mason Jr., whose legacy she carried forward with grace and dignity.
A proud 2019 graduate of Grays Creek High School in Hope Mills , NC. Rhaygann was an avid lover of Anime, the Arts, books, and cuisine. Her passion for Star Wars was unmatched, and she found joy in the stories and characters that filled her imagination and fueled her creativity.
This Celebration is a Memorial to Rhaygann's warmth, compassion, and zest for life to share in the remembrance of a life lived with love and meaning.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the dedicated doctors and nurses at CFV Hospital, UNC Medical Center at Chapel Hill, Amedysis Hospice, and Valley Hospice Center for the compassionate care and support provided to Rhaygann during her time with them.
Rhaygann Christine Schell will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide those who knew her, as she rests in peace, forever in our hearts.
