Rex Green

In loving memory of Rex Green, who passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, at Brightmoor Hospice in Macon, GA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 16, 1958, Rex was a beacon of joy and strength, known for his infectious smile and zest for life. Rex was the beloved son of the late Donald and Flora Bell Green, who instilled in him the values of kindness and resilience. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his sister Angela Mann and brother Ronald Green. Despite these profound losses, Rex remained a pillar of strength and inspiration to those around him. A graduate of Hawkinsville High School in 1977, Rex went on to build a dedicated career at Opelika Mill in Hawkinsville, GA, and later in Opelika, Alabama, until his well-earned retirement. His work ethic and commitment were admired by colleagues and friends alike. Rex's life was a testament to joy and laughter. He was a fun-loving soul who cherished dancing and sharing vibrant moments with family and friends. His bright smile could light up any room, and his presence was a source of comfort and happiness to all who knew him. Rex leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his son Dominique Colson, his five adoring grandchildren, his devoted sister Sharon Whitehead, his brother Dr. Aaron Keith Green and sister-in-law Ykeisha Baker-Green, his sister-in-law Mary Green, his Uncle Lee Gus Durham, and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. The family extends special thanks to his sister Sharon Whitehead and niece Kennedy Mann for their selfless care and support during his illness. Heartfelt gratitude is also extended to all family and friends for their prayers, support, and condolences during this difficult time. Rex Green will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
