Retha King, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on August 12, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on January 2, 1934, in Rochester, New York, Retha lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. In 1951, Retha married the love of her life, Lemuel King. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with joy and companionship, that spanned several decades. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Linda Miller and Richard Lewis, who were constant sources of pride and joy for Retha. Throughout her life, Retha was known for her impeccable sense of fashion and her deep love for family. She delighted in spending time with her loved ones, creating countless cherished memories. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the aroma of delicious meals that brought family and friends together. Retha was an exceptional woman who worked at Delco, where she dedicated herself to her career with diligence and tenacity. Her hard work and determination allowed her to retire early, affording her more time to pursue her passions and spend quality moments with her family. The legacy of Retha's kindness and generosity continues through her cherished family. She is survived by her children, Linda Miller and Richard Lewis; her adored grandchild, Sharnell Richardson; and her precious great-grandchildren, Jaclyn White, Ashayoina Jackson, Imoni McDonald, and Darnell Williams. Her family will forever hold her memory close to their hearts, drawing strength and inspiration from her loving spirit. Retha's personality was a beacon of sweetness and compassion. She was the kindest, most giving soul anyone could meet, always willing to lend a hand or offer a comforting word. Her presence brought light to every room she entered, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. A service to honor and celebrate Retha's life will be held on August 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at White Haven Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to love and kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Retha's memory, continuing her legacy of giving and compassion. Retha King will be remembered as a loving matriarch, a devoted friend, and a shining example of a life well-lived.
