Rene was a devoted wife to the late Nicholas Mangieri, whom she married in 1984. Together, they built a life filled with joy and cherished memories. Nicholas adored Rene's gift of conversation and her ability to fill their home with warmth through her stories and laughter.
In her professional life, Rene was a dedicated librarian, earning her Master's Degree in library studies. She spent much of her career sharing her passion for knowledge at various libraries, including Walsingham Academy. Her commitment to learning and literacy left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working with her.
Her passion for reading was not just a profession but a beloved pastime. She often spent her afternoons indulging in a good book, accompanied by her favorite snack of cheese and crackers, and a single beer. This simple yet profound pleasure was a testament to her appreciation for life's small joys.
Rene's love for nature was evident in her beautifully tended garden, where she found solace and creativity. Her hands, whether turning the pages of a book, planting seeds, or piecing together puzzles, were always busy. She also enjoyed the camaraderie and vitality of her regular gym visits, embracing an active lifestyle throughout her life.
Family was the cornerstone of Rene’s life. She leaves behind her children, Anthony Allan Segar and Jennifer Kate Armstrong, and her cherished stepchildren Tammy Wilson, Mark Mangieri, Dawn Ahluwalia, and Michelle Mangieri. Her legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, each a testament to the love and values she instilled in her family. Rene was predeceased by her loving parents and her dear husband Nicholas.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the care home for their exceptional care and support during the last year of Rene's life. Their compassion brought comfort to Rene and her family during a challenging time.
