May 5, 1931 — May 26, 2026

Renate Inge Langner Rooney was a remarkable woman whose life journey began on May 5, 1931, in Koenigsberg, Germany. Born to Fritz August Zacherau and Helen Julia Saager, Renate was a beacon of resilience, love, and grace. Her life's tapestry was woven with experiences that spanned continents, generations, and countless cherished memories. Renate's early years in Germany were marked by the love and guidance of her parents and her two brothers, Alfons and Dieter Zacherau. On February 27, 1954, she married the love of her life, Stephan Langner, in Luneburg, Germany. Together, they embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to the United States in 1957, where they built a beautiful life in a land of new beginnings. A devoted homemaker, Renate dedicated herself to raising her children, nurturing them with warmth and wisdom as they adapted to their new home. Her unwavering support extended beyond her family as she played an integral role in Stephan’s entrepreneurial venture, Adler Glass, where her diligence and partnership contributed significantly to the business's success. Renate had an innate love for the simple joys of life. Her heart found solace and joy at the beach, where the rhythm of the waves mirrored her gentle spirit. Swimming in the pool was another passion, offering moments of tranquility and reflection. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing soul, a place where she cultivated beauty and found peace. Above all, her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with her children, Roland and Melodye Langner, Silvia and Bob Piscitelli, and Frank and Susan Langner. Her legacy is further carried by her eight grandchildren—Roland Aron, Dustin, Jamie, Angela, Monica, Bobby, Karen, and Stephanie—and her thirteen great-grandchildren, Brielle, Hayley, Evan, Carter, Danica, Logan, Luke, Bennett, Colette, Garrett, Evelyn, and Tripp. Renate's life was touched by both profound love and loss. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Fritz and Helen Zacherau, her cherished husband, Stephan Langner, her second husband, Thaddeus Rooney, and her brothers, Alfons and Dieter. Despite these losses, Renate's spirit remained unyielding, a testament to her strength and enduring faith. On May 26, 2026, Renate passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. Her life will be celebrated at the Colts Neck Reformed Church, located on Route 537 in Colts Neck, NJ, a place where her spirit will be remembered and cherished by all who gather. In honor of Renate's compassionate nature, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Joubert Syndrome & Related Disorders Foundation (@JSRDF), supporting a cause close to their hearts.
