It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we announce the passing of Renae Marie Grayson, who departed this world on April 19, 2026, after a courageous battle with an illness. Born on February 4, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Renae was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and strength to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Renae's life was one of dedication and love, characterized by her unwavering commitment to her family, her students, and her faith community. She was predeceased by her loving parents and her devoted husband, James, whose memories she cherished and whose spirits she carried with her throughout her life. Renae was a proud alumna of the University of Tulsa, where she earned her degree in Education. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming an educator, nurturing young minds and inspiring countless students over a remarkable 20-year career. Renae’s classroom was not just a place of learning but a sanctuary where every child felt welcomed and valued, a testament to her extraordinary gift for making everyone feel special. Her heart belonged to her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure in the lives of her children: Jay Grayson and his wife Lisaann of Wichita, KS; Darrell Grayson and his wife Michelle of Dallas, TX; and Mohagany Jamison of Tulsa, OK. Her grandchildren—Madison, Justice, James, Jordyn, and Kyle—were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Renae was an active member of the First Baptist Church for over two decades, where she found solace, strength, and community. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and supporting her through life’s challenges. Saturdays were reserved for cheering on OU football, a tradition she enjoyed with family and friends, adding joy and excitement to her weekends. Renae had a rare ability to turn strangers into friends, and friends into family. Her generous spirit and welcoming nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Her numerous friends and extended family will forever remember her as a compassionate and gentle soul, whose laughter and love were as boundless as the Oklahoma sky. A private ceremony will be held in her honor, respecting her wishes for an intimate farewell. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hillcrest Hospital for their exceptional care and hospitality during Renae's final days. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to be made in Renae’s name to organizations that support education, ensuring that her passion for teaching and learning continues to inspire future generations. Renae Marie Grayson’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to the things that truly matter. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
