In Loving Memory

reginald gene Ellison
August 29, 1964 — February 14, 2026
In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Reginald Gene Ellison, who graced this world with his presence on August 29, 1964, in Bolivar, Tennessee. On February 14, 2026, at the age of 61, Reginald left this earthly realm, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warm memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Reginald was a beloved son to Rev. Eugene Ellison Jr. and Lovie Jimmerson Ellison Chism. His mother, Lovie Mae Jimmerson Chism, and his grandparents, Eugene (Jabbo) & Ethel Mae Ellison Sr. and Richard E & Dazzie Lee Jimmerson, preceded him in death, welcoming him with open arms into the peaceful embrace of the afterlife.
He is survived by his devoted sons, Nicholas (Kelsey) Ellison of Bartlett, TN, and Kyle (Kendra) Ellison of Mt. Juliet, TN, who inherit their father's strength, kindness, and zest for life. Reginald is also lovingly remembered by his father, Rev. Eugene (Lorene) Ellison Jr. of Bolivar, TN, along with his siblings: Jeff (Mark) Ellison of Dallas, TX, Darryl (Sharon) Foster of Jackson, TN, Tonya (Fredrick) Perry, Atrice Ellison of Bolivar, TN, Gretchen (Dennis) Bills of Jackson, TN, and Phyllis Ellison of Arkansas. A cherished uncle, Reginald leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and countless other relatives and friends who were touched by his generous spirit and infectious smile.
Reginald's faith was a cornerstone of his life, having confessed Christ at an early age at Clover Chapel Baptist Church and later joining Hillfield Baptist Church. A proud alumnus of Bolivar Central High School, he carried the values of dedication and perseverance into every endeavor.
Reginald's work life was as varied as it was fulfilling, with contributions to Standard Construction Company, AutoZone Trucking, Hooper Sawmill, and Hardeman County Highway Department, among others. His work ethic was matched only by his passion for life's simple joys. He found peace and happiness in the great outdoors, gardening, hunting, and fishing. His love for horses, cooking, and the simple pleasure of a freshly washed car were among the many ways he expressed his joy.
A service to honor Reginald's life will be held on February 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Jimmerson Cemetery in Toone, TN. There, family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate a life well-lived, a life that touched so many with warmth and love.
In remembering Reginald, we celebrate a man whose heart was as vast as the Tennessee landscapes he loved so dearly. May his spirit find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all to live with kindness, passion, and joy.
