Regina "Jeanie" A. Palmisano, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, left this world peacefully on September 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born on July 19, 1945, in Rockford, Illinois, Jeanie graced this world with her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter for 81 wonderful years. Daughter of the late Ray and Virginia Broderick, Jeanie was a beacon of warmth and joy to all who knew her. She spent her formative years in Champaign, Illinois, where she graduated from Champaign High School. Her life was marked by a deep devotion to her family, her work, and her community. In 1965, Jeanie married the love of her life, Ed Palmisano, with whom she shared over five decades of love, laughter, and the raising of three cherished children. Although Ed preceded her in death, their legacy of love continues to thrive through their surviving children and grandchildren: daughter Debbie (Jason) Edwardson of Littleton, Colorado; son Rob (Kim) Palmisano of Savoy, Illinois; grandson Nathan (Miriam) Palmisano of St. Joseph, Illinois; and granddaughter Taylor Edwardson of Littleton, Colorado. She is also fondly remembered by many friends and extended family who were touched by her kindness. Jeanie's career was marked by dedication and integrity. She was a long-time employee of Osco Drug before embarking on a successful career with the University of Illinois Purchasing Department, where she worked until her well-earned retirement. Not one to be idle, Jeanie took on a part-time position at County Market simply to remain connected with people, a testament to her love for social interaction and community. Her life was enriched by her numerous hobbies and interests. Jeanie never met a stranger, and her gift for conversation and quick wit often left those around her in stitches. She delighted in traveling to visit loved ones, dancing, swimming, and spending time outdoors. Notorious for her prowess in card games and Yahtzee, she was a formidable opponent, bringing joy and energy to every gathering. Jeanie is predeceased by her parents Ray and Virginia, sister Connie Keefe, husband Ed, son Ronnie Palmisano, and grandson Alex Palmisano. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. In honor of Jeanie's memory, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in keeping with her generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others.
