It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of ReChard Collins, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world unexpectedly on June 27th, 2026. Born on August 11th, 1970, in Texas, ReChard lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to others.
ReChard was the cherished son of Paul Collins and the late Margaruite Jean Collins. He is survived by his loving daughter, Arielle Nelson, who was the light of his life. ReChard also leaves behind his devoted Aunt Hattie Heyward, caring Uncle Benjamin Collins, Uncle Clifford Collins, favorite little cousin Kendyl Babino and Aunt Deloyce Cook, along with many cousins and friends, all of whom he considered family.
ReChard's journey of learning and growth began at Rantoul Township High School, where he graduated in 1988. He furthered his education at Jarvis Christian College, where he not only gained knowledge but also became a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. His sense of camaraderie and community was evident in every aspect of his life.
A dedicated patriot, ReChard served in the U.S. Army, where he forged lifelong bonds and demonstrated his unwavering commitment to service. After his military career, he found his true calling as a Special Education Teacher. ReChard's ability to connect with children was truly remarkable—he had a natural talent for making each child feel valued and understood, and his students adored him.
Outside of his professional life, ReChard was a sports fanatic with an undying love for the Oakland Raiders. Whether he was cheering for his team or sharing a laugh with friends, his enthusiasm was infectious. ReChard was known for his unparalleled sense of humor and ability to connect with anyone he met. To ReChard, no one was a stranger, and everyone was family.
A celebration of ReChard's life will be held on July 21st, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Allen Dave Funeral Home, located at 2103 Cypress Landing Road, Houston, Texas 77090. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and condolences during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in ReChard's memory to a cause close to his heart, ensuring his legacy of kindness and compassion continues to make a difference.
As we gather to honor ReChard's memory, we hold onto the love and laughter he brought into our lives. Though we say goodbye today, the lessons and joy he shared will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you for joining us in celebrating the remarkable life of ReChard Collins.
