In Loving Memory

Rebecca Sterling
May 29, 1964 — October 28, 2026
Rebecca Sterling, born on May 29, 1964, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, peacefully left this world at home on October 28, 2026. She was a woman of remarkable grace and warmth who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Rebecca was the beloved daughter of Chester and Eula Bazinet, who preceded her in death, along with her sisters, Jennifer Bazinet and Charlotte Landry. She is survived by her devoted husband, Curtis Sterling Jr., with whom she shared 26 beautiful years of marriage, beginning on March 11, 2000, in Lake Charles. Together, they nurtured a loving family, raising their cherished children, Joshua Bazinet (and his wife Laurie) and Eva'lyn Sterling. Rebecca's family was her pride and joy, and she was surrounded by a host of adoring grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her legacy forward.
Rebecca graduated from Barbe High School in 1981 and went on to work in various roles within the retail and banking industries. She was known for her exemplary work ethic and her ability to brighten the day of anyone she encountered. Her kindness was her hallmark, and she cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. Rebecca was a spirited conversationalist who loved to connect with those around her.
Her hobbies were as varied as her interests. Rebecca found joy in crafting, playing computer games, and indulging in her favorite TV shows, particularly "NCIS" and HGTV. Shopping was an adventure she relished, often seeking out the perfect find with her signature enthusiasm.
The family invites those who knew and loved Rebecca to join them in a celebration of her life on November 3, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 306 Ann St., Lacassine, Louisiana, 70647. As we gather to honor her memory, we remember a woman whose life was a testament to love, kindness, and the joy of simple pleasures.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rebecca's memory to a charity of your choice, continuing her legacy of generosity and compassion. Rebecca Sterling will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
