Reather Corine Arnold

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Reather Corine Arnold, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, who left this world peacefully on June 30, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on November 6, 1935, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Reather was the beloved daughter of the late William Washington and Collie Mills Peagler. Reather’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of nearly 65 years, J Tally Arnold, who passed away in 2020, and her cherished grandson, Justin Lee Arnold. She is survived by her two loving sons, J Dexter Arnold and Jay Tally Arnold, both residing in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Her legacy continues through her granddaughters, Jennifer (David) Nugent of Wedowee, Alabama, and Samantha Haun of Lebanon, Tennessee; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Grant Nugent, Abigail Nugent, Addison Haun, Mason Haun, and Lily Ann Arnold. Reather also leaves behind her dear companion, Dan Royer, who brought joy to her later years. Reather graduated from Berkeley High School in 1954, laying the foundation for a life marked by dedication and service. She spent nearly four decades as a bus driver, a role she embraced with warmth and responsibility, touching countless young lives in Rutherford County Schools and later at Middle Tennessee State University as a shuttle driver. Her life was enriched by her active participation in the Blackman United Methodist Church, where she was a pillar of faith and community for many decades. Reather's vibrant spirit was further expressed through her love for dances and card games at the Senior Citizen Center, where her laughter and joy were infectious. A woman of strong morals and boundless love, Reather was always up for an adventure and cherished every moment spent traveling. Yet, above all else, her family was her greatest joy and priority, a testament to her nurturing spirit and unwavering love. A celebration of Reather's remarkable life will be held on July 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Blackman United Methodist Church, located at 4380 Manson Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor the profound impact she had on all who were fortunate to know her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family and community. Reather Corine Arnold will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
