REATHA RUTH BATTLE Johnson

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved family member, REATHA RUTH BATTLE Johnson was born on March 17 1937 to parents Henry and Careatha Battle in Cordele, Georgia. school in Clay County, graduated from Dunbar High School, and faimily moved to Florida in the early 1950's Reatha attended several years, and later moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where was very active in sports. She moved to Northfork, Virginia for she raised her children. Reatha and her children attended Third Lutheran Church, where they were very active members. While living in Baltimore, she worked at the Community College. Reatha eventually went to Bridgeport Connecticut College and received her degree in Hotel-Motel Management, where she worked for years until the late 1970's, when she eventually moved back to Creen Cove Springs, Florida. Reatha was a member of Greater Mount Pleasant Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, gardening, shopping. and spending time with family her eternal rest by her Daughter: Vivan Recese: Son, Bobby Battle; and friends. In addition to her parents, Reatha was preceded in Granddaughter, Kareatha Gray: Sisters, 0vzie Howard and Ruby Browns; and Brothers, David Smokey Baltle and Lorenzo Battle, Reatha Battle Johnson entered the sunset Of life on Monday, February 22, 2026, at her Daughter Tracy and Tony Hampshires* home. She leaves to cherish her memories to her Daughters, Tracy (Tony) Hampshire, Amari Joy Kelly, Eva Battle of Green Cove Springs FL, and Beverly Kelly of Ladson, SC; Sons, Demerius Kelly, Cregory Kelly, and Dean Kelly of Green Cove Springs, FL, and Victor (Denise, Kelly of Chantilly, Virginia; Brothers, Ronnie Battle of Jacksonville, FL and Tommy Battle of Pensacola, FL; and Sister, Henry Bloudie Battle of San Diego, CA. She had fifteen Grandchildren: Shecara Jones,Terry Battle, Tameika Hampshire, Jermaine Griner, Monique Dorsey, Danielle Blount, Chad Garner, Courtney Garner, Vern King, Tempest Dorsey, Mia utler, Anthony Hampshire, Antoine Hampshire, Nicole Cruger, and Chelsea Kelly; along with thirty Great-grandchildren; six Godchildren: Lashika Williams, Tommy Evans, Tony Zeigler, Alonzo Garner, Stacie Wilson and Misha Gregory; Special Friends, , Zelam Wilson, Mona Kelly, Eric Kirkland and Bobby Goodman; and a host of Nieces, Nephews Cousins and Friends. We are deeply saddened by this loss. Our hearts go out to those close to them. We remember the beautiful person that they were and take solace in knowing that they are now at peace.
