Raynard Tarrell Lott

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Raynard Tarrell Lott on September 16, 2026, at his home. Born on July 15, 1981, in Newark, New Jersey, Raynard was the beloved son of Talita & Kelvin Tucker and Raynard Lewis. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Fred & Mrs. Patricia Lott and Mr. Benjamin & Mrs. Bettie Lewis. Raynard's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and service. He attended George Washington Carver Elementary School and graduated from Bloomfield Technical High School in 2000. His passion for culinary arts led him to the California Culinary Arts Institute in San Diego. He furthered his education at Berkeley College, where he earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration. A proud veteran, Raynard served in the US Navy for 10 years. As a combat soldier and sharpshooter rifleman, he was stationed in Japan and bravely served in Afghanistan, where he was recognized with the Navy’s “E” Ribbon for his exemplary service. Raynard's culinary talents shone brightly during his time as a sous chef at The Cheesecake Factory. His love for cooking extended beyond the professional kitchen, as he delighted in hosting pop-up events to share his delicious creations. Raynard was also known for his impeccable sense of style, never appearing without his clothes perfectly coordinated and his beard meticulously groomed. Those who knew Raynard will remember his quick wit, warm smile, and infectious laugh. He had an extraordinary gift for making others feel loved and valued, and his kindness and generosity touched countless lives. His big heart was both a gift and a testament to the person he was. Raynard leaves behind a loving family, including his sisters Takia Tucker, Nikeema Pierre, Quniah Beasley-Patterson, and kindred siblings Mr. Leon Taylor, Mr. Wille Taylor, Mr. Bilal & TaTanisha Blackwell, and Ms. Maria Carn. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom will cherish his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Raynard's honor. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who provided love and support during this time of bereavement. A special thank you goes to Dave from Third & Valley and to the staff at the VA hospital. May God continue to bless you all. Raynard Tarrell Lott will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the love, laughter, and kindness he brought into the world.
