Raymond Q. Cedillo

It is with profound sadness and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of Raymond Q. Cedillo, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great- grandfather, and friend to many. Raymond passed away at home on June 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 94 years old. Raymond was born on September 20, 1931, in Pflugerville, Texas, to parents Carmen Cedillo and Francisca Quiroz. He grew up in a close-knit family, instilled with values of love, kindness, and generosity that he carried with him throughout his life. Predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Juana Cedillo, his siblings: Domingo, Jose, Nicho, Enedina, Trini, George, Maria Alejandrina, Francisca, and great-grandchildren Serenity Romero and Ramon Cedillo, Raymond is now joyfully reunited with them in eternal peace. Raymond's life was marked by his dedicated service to his country. He served with honor and distinction in the United States Army from October 29, 1952, to October 28, 1954, during the Korean War. Achieving the rank of Technician Corporal, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. His bravery and patriotism were a source of pride for his family and his community. Raymond married the love of his life, Juana, and together they celebrated 70 beautiful years of marriage, a testament to their unwavering devotion and love. Their union was blessed with six children: Gloria (Carlos) Hernandez, Martha Silva, Ramon Cedillo, Yolanda Cedillo, Cesar (Angela) Cedillo, and Carlos (Blanca) Cedillo. Raymond's legacy of love extended to his 11 grandchildren: Carlos Hernandez III, Melissa Arroyos, Diana Cedillo, Robert Silva, Renee Cedillo, Julissa Lamonica, Manuel Silva, Brenda Cedillo, Marissa Cedillo, Alyssa Cedillo, and Raymond Cedillo. His heart was further filled with joy as he welcomed great-grandchildren: Gabrielle Ruelas, Raymond Canava, Dominic Hernandez, Tony Luevano Jr., Andrew Canava, Ezra Silva, Venezia Silva, Neveah Franco, Hailey Lamonica, Aileen Silva, Ryan Lamonica, Heaven Arroyos, Faith Arroyos, Teigan Rutherford, Skarlett Cedillo. Great-great-grandchildren: Leilah Escarcega, Jay Ruelas, Ramon Marcelo Cedillo, Camila Ruelas, Mariana Cedillo, Noah Martinez, Leia Canava, and Ryker Hernandez. Raymond was known far and wide for his quick wit and warm smile, often sharing a joke to lighten the mood. His gift for storytelling was legendary, captivating audiences of all ages. He had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, and his kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Raymond was a man of deep faith, and his prayers were a source of strength and comfort for his family. In his retirement, Raymond cherished spending time with his family, sharing stories, laughter, and love. His home was a gathering place filled with warmth and joy, where memories were made and cherished. As we say goodbye to Raymond, we are reminded of the incredible impact he had on our lives. His legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the knowledge that his spirit lives on in each of us, and that he is reunited with those he loved so dearly. A celebration of Raymond's life will be held on June 22nd at 4:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home, located at 1755 N. Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79936. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on June 23rd, 2026 at 12:00 PM at St. Mark Catholic Church, located at 11700 Pebble Hills Blvd., El Paso, TX 79936. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived, sharing stories and memories that highlight Raymond's vibrant spirit.
