In Loving Memory

Raymond Martin.
May 5, 1953 — April 14, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Raymond Martin, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. Raymond peacefully departed this world on April 14, 2025, at his home, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew him. Born on May 5, 1953, in the quaint city of St. Paul, Minnesota, Raymond's life was a testament to his adventurous spirit and unyielding love for those around him.
Raymond was predeceased by his loving mother and brother, with whom he now rests in eternal peace. He leaves behind a family bound by love and cherished memories: his devoted daughters Jennifer, Alaina, and Amy; his son John, who carries forward his father's legacy of kindness and resilience; his beloved sister Jo Marie; and his cherished nephews, Adam and John, and niece, Jo Jr. Raymond's life was further enriched by the unwavering friendship of his best friend, Dennis, with whom he shared countless evenings filled with music and laughter by the fire.
Raymond's education extended beyond the conventional classrooms. He was a lifelong learner, gaining wisdom and perspective through his extensive travels and diverse experiences. He spent many years working with carnivals, bringing joy to countless lives, and later as a dedicated truck and bus driver, where his journeys across the country were filled with stories of the open road.
An avid fisherman, Raymond found peace and solace by the water, where he could often be found casting a line and enjoying the tranquility of nature. His love for reading transported him to worlds unknown, while his passion for sci-fi movies sparked his imagination. Raymond's evenings were often spent in the company of his best friend, Dennis, where they shared laughter, stories, and the simple pleasure of listening to music with a cold beer in hand.
Raymond was truly an acquired taste, a man whose outward appearance belied the depth of his loving and generous spirit. He taught those around him not to judge by appearances, but to look deeper and find the kindness that lay within. His heart was open, his hands always willing to help, and his presence a comforting constant in the lives of those he loved.
Though his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, Raymond's family and friends find solace in the precious memories they shared with him. His life was a testament to the power of love, the joy of adventure, and the beauty of living authentically.
A celebration of Raymond's life will be held at a later date, where stories will be shared, laughter will be heard, and Raymond's spirit will be honored in the way he lived—surrounded by those he loved. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Raymond's memory by embracing life with the same openness and generosity that he did, and by sharing a smile with a stranger, just as Raymond would have done.
Rest in peace, dear Raymond. May your journey be filled with endless adventures and your heart forever brim with love.
