It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond F. Barsalou, a cherished husband, brother, grandfather, and friend. Raymond departed this world on April 13, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and gentle wisdom. Born on June 13, 1947, in the quaint town of Glastonbury, Connecticut, Raymond was a beacon of strength and compassion to all who knew him. Raymond was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Nancy, who stood by his side through the seasons of life, sharing both trials and triumphs. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. His sister, Anita, survives him, and she fondly recalls their shared childhood adventures and the unbreakable bond they nurtured over the years. A master carpenter, Raymond dedicated 40 years of his life to his craft, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully crafted homes and structures that stand as testaments to his skill and dedication. His work was not merely a career but a passion that he infused with creativity and precision. Raymond took immense pride in his work, and his projects were not just buildings but works of art that spoke to the heart and soul of his craftsmanship. Beyond his professional life, Raymond found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid woodworker, often found in his workshop, shaping pieces of wood into intricate designs and functional art. His creations, shared generously with family and friends, are treasured keepsakes that will continue to tell stories of his talent and thoughtfulness for generations. Raymond's love for nature was evident in his passion for bird watching. He spent countless hours in serene observation, finding peace and wonder in the fluttering of wings and the beauty of avian life. His knowledge of birds was extensive, and he delighted in sharing this passion with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories and instilling a love for nature in the next generation. Raymond was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life. His gentle guidance, unconditional love, and warm laughter will be sorely missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who had the privilege to call him Grandpa. As we bid farewell to Raymond, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life that touched and enriched the lives of so many. His legacy is one of kindness, hard work, and a profound appreciation for the beauty of the world around him. Though we grieve his loss, we find comfort in the knowledge that his spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear. A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends to honor Raymond's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local bird conservation charity, in keeping with Raymond's love for nature and his desire to protect and preserve it for future generations. May Raymond F. Barsalou rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and that his influence will continue to inspire all who knew him.
