Raymond D. Moyer

October 20, 1962 — June 20, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Raymond D. Moyer, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Ray departed this world on at the age of 63, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and unwavering faith. Ray was born on October 20, 1962, in the quaint town of Mondovi, Wisconsin, to the late Miles Buddy Moyer Sr. and Ruth Ann Moyer (Hertzfeldt). Growing up in a close-knit family, Ray imbibed the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion—values that he carried with him throughout his life. In 1982, Ray graduated from Mondovi High School, marking the beginning of a journey filled with dedication and love. On July 17 of that same year, Ray married the love of his life, Barbara Olson, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, a bond that remained unbroken for over four decades. Ray and Barb began their life together in Elk Mound, where they were blessed with their daughter, Ann. They later returned to Ray’s beloved hometown of Mondovi before settling in Eleva, Wisconsin, where they raised their two children, Ann and James. Ray relished his role as a father, always finding joy in the laughter and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Throughout his career, Ray exemplified dedication and resilience. He worked tirelessly from a young age, gaining experience on farms, in hospitals, and at a canning factory. His industrious spirit found a long-term home at Arcadia Fryers, which later became Golden Plump and then Pilgrim's, where he devoted 16 and a half years. Following this, Ray contributed 17 years to Ashley Furniture as a case goods assembly worker. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when he and Barb ventured into the food business, running a food trailer that brought them many adventures and cherished memories. Ray’s journey led him to Trane in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he continued to work diligently. His work ethic was only eclipsed by his love for his family, especially his grandchildren. Each of his eight grandchildren—Destini, Deegan, Divinity, Draxtyn, Declan Amborn, Lorelei Moyer, and Jayce Haas—held a special place in his heart, and he took immense pride in their every achievement. Although Ray did not frequently attend church, his faith in the Lord was steadfast and deeply personal. He carried his beliefs quietly but with conviction, reflecting his humble and sincere nature. Ray had a zest for life that was infectious. In his younger years, he delighted in cooking, swimming, and spending precious moments with family and friends. His laughter was a balm to those around him, his spirit a source of strength and unity. Raymond D. Moyer is survived by his devoted wife, Barb, his cherished children Ann Nelson (Joe Britten) and James Moyer (Karli Haas), his treasured grandchildren Destini (Chase DeYoung), Deegan, Divinity, Draxtyn and Declan Amborn, Lorelei Moyer, Jayce Haas, and his loving siblings: Miles Moyer Jr. (Jolene Larson) of Mondovi, WI, Peter Moyer of Red Wing, MN, Teckla Jacobson of Independence, WI, and Hope Schick of Augusta, WI. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, each of whom he held dear. Ray is predeceased by his parents and his beloved grandson, Theigo. As we say goodbye to Ray, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man whose legacy of love and kindness will forever ripple through the lives he touched. His memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A service to honor Ray's life will be held at [Location] on [Date and Time].
