In Loving Memory

Raymond Baxter
October 4, 1976 — August 22, 2026
Raymond Baxter, a beloved husband, father, and friend, was born on October 4, 1976, in Washington, DC, and passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026. He was a man whose life was defined by the deep love he held for his family and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. Raymond's journey through life was marked by kindness, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
Raymond was the cherished son of Raymond Shaw and Pamela Baxter, and he shared a close bond with his mother and sisters, Kimberly and Raylette, who predeceased him. His legacy is carried forward by his loving wife of 15 years, Nikkia Yancey Baxter, whom he married on November 18, 2011, in Alexandria, VA. Their marriage was a testament to a deep and enduring love, filled with cherished moments that will forever be etched in their hearts.
He was a devoted father to his sons, Abdush Shakur ibn Raymond Baxter and Jibril Yasin ibn Raymond Baxter, and a caring stepfather to Kadin Allen and Naim Allen. Raymond's dedication to his family was unparalleled, and his memory will continue to live on through them and his two grandchildren, who will grow up hearing stories of their remarkable grandfather.
Raymond's presence brought warmth and joy to those around him, and though he is no longer with us, the love he shared will endure in the hearts of his family and friends. His kindness and compassion left a mark on everyone he encountered, and he will be fondly remembered for the love he gave so freely.
A service to honor Raymond's life will be held on August 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Islamic Society of Greenville, located at 96 Meridian Ave, Taylors, SC 29687. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, as this would honor Raymond's generous spirit and his commitment to making the world a better place.
As we gather to celebrate Raymond's life, we hold in our hearts the special message from his family: "Rest in peace, Raymond. You are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure." His legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
