In Loving Memory

Rayma Darline Long Plummer
February 12, 1950 — May 22, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Rayma Darline Long Plummer, who left this world peacefully on May 22, 2026, at her home in Johnson City, TX, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on February 12, 1950, in Austin, TX, Rayma graced the world with warmth, kindness, and a spirit that touched everyone she met.
Rayma was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond Wilson Long and Emma Veda Boren Long. She was predeceased by her parents and her dear brothers, Gary and Mike Long. Her legacy continues through her devoted husband of 47 years, David John Plummer, whom she married in 1979. Their union was a true partnership, symbolized by the words "Always Partners" engraved in their wedding rings and the concrete of their front porch, which they called home for many happy years.
Rayma's life was enriched by her surviving siblings, Roger Long (Karen) and Molly Farrel (Eddie), who shared in the joys and challenges of life with her. Together, they created a tapestry of memories that will forever be cherished.
Rayma's heart was her family, which included her five beloved daughters: Paula Darline Ostroot, Penny Vedette Parker, Pamela Inez Whited, Polly Ann Tardiff, and Patty Kay Klaerner. Her love reached far and wide, encompassing 15 grandchildren—Ashley, Bryan, Christopher, Erik, AmberLynne, Daniel, David, Dillion, Laura, Philip, Colton, Lucy, Eve, Chase, and Brady—and 26 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Each of them was a testament to the love she spread throughout her life, always ensuring there were treats for her grandbabies and hugs that comforted the soul.
Rayma attended Travis High School in Austin, TX, and later embarked on a fulfilling career as the Administrative Manager for SCCI, a naval contractor, where she dedicated 26 years of her life until her retirement. Her work ethic and commitment were admired by all who had the privilege to work with her.
Beyond her professional achievements, Rayma embraced life's simple pleasures. She found joy in playing dominoes, fishing—with a lifelong dream to "catch the killer cat(fish)"—and expressing her creativity through embroidery and sewing. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, and her voice, often singing the tunes of Patsy Cline, other country greats, and Pavarotti, could light up any room.
Rayma had an incredible ability to speak with her eyes, conveying love and understanding in a glance. Her hugs were legendary, offering comfort and warmth to all who received them. In every flower that blooms, every note sung, and every gentle breeze, her spirit lives on, a testament to the love and joy she brought into the world.
A celebration of Rayma's life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Happy Ranch, her residence at 406 Weddle Rd, Johnson City, TX 78636. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who was a part of her journey.
Though we miss her greatly, Rayma's memory will forever carry on in our hearts and in the beauty of the world around us. As her family so beautifully expressed, "Fly amongst the Eagles and Angels." Rayma, you will always be with us in every thought, every song, and every gentle flutter of a hummingbird's wings.
