Ray Junior Morgan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ray Junior Morgan, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend, who departed this life on July 22, 2026, at the age of 81. Ray passed away peacefully at Prisma Heath Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the family he dedicated his life to. His enduring spirit and unwavering love leave a profound legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. Born on February 6, 1945, in Tuxedo, North Carolina, Ray was the son of the late Arthur Levi Morgan and Bertha Hill Williams. He was predeceased by his parents, his infant brother Keith Morgan, and his beloved wife, Sarah Marcelle Morgan, with whom he shared a love story that spanned decades. Ray is survived by his two devoted daughters, Sarah Morgan and Lesha Morgan, who were the pride of his life. He was a doting grandfather to Heather Wilkey, Walker Crawford, James Gabriel, and Morgan Gabriel, and a great-grandfather to Jaxon Wilkey, Cash Crawford, Ryan Crawford, James Michael Gabriel, Alexis Gabriel, and Callie Gabriel. Additionally, Ray is remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews, whom he loved as his own. For 40 years, Ray was the proud owner and operator of Travelers Rest Septic Tank Service. His work ethic and dedication to his craft were unmatched, and he was respected by both colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his career, Ray was a dedicated member of the Travelers Rest Church of the Brethren, where he served as a deacon for four decades. His faith guided him and he was actively involved in church ministries and community outreach, always eager to lend a helping hand. Ray's kindness and generosity knew no bounds. He was a man of deep love for both family and community, always ready with a warm smile or a word of encouragement. One of his greatest joys was tending to his beloved vegetable garden, where he delighted in teaching his grandchildren the joys of cultivating the earth. A service celebrating Ray's life will be held on July 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Travelers Rest Church of the Brethren, located at 7 Silvers Road, Travelers Rest, SC. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ray's memory to an organization of your choosing, in the spirit of his giving nature. The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Prisma Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during Ray’s final days. Words cannot express our true gratitude. Though Ray is no longer with us, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. May he rest in peace.
