It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Rashod L. King on July 23, 2026, at Rochester General Hospital, with his beloved fiancé, Crystal Calkins, by his side. Rashod's departure followed a brief but brave battle with cancer. Born on June 9, 1979, in Brockport, New York, Rashod was cherished by many for his warmth, creativity, and unwavering dedication to family.
Rashod leaves behind a legacy of love through his fiancé, Crystal Calkins, his devoted children Nakia, Rashod, Dakari, and Braeliah “Bia,” and the children he lovingly cared for: Austin, Alyse, Adrianna, Amara, Malina, and Marcus.
Rashod was the loving son of Rhonda “Faye” ( Shawn) Latimer. His brother Shawn Latimer. Aunts and uncles James (Maureen) Williams, Charlaine Anderson, Kathryn (George) Boley, Kenneth (Theresa) King. Rashod had many cousins and friends of which all considered him a
“ Big brother“. He was preceded in death by his cherished grandmother Peggy L. King, grandfather Franklin R. “Jack” King, father George Miller, aunts Lynette Manuel and Donna Manuel , uncle "Tony" King, and cousin Todd Boley.
Rashod and Crystal embarked on their journey together just a few years ago, creating a tapestry of beautiful memories that will forever be cherished. As a dedicated father, Rashod found immense joy in watching his son Dakari excel in football and wrestling, always cheering him on from the sidelines.
A proud alumnus of Brockport and Perry schools, Rashod pursued his passion for the culinary arts, finding fulfillment as a talented chef. He was known for his inventive menus and took great pride in sharing his culinary creations with others.
Beyond the kitchen, Rashod was widely recognized by his stage name, "Stickla." A passionate rapper, he used his music to convey powerful life messages, leaving an indelible mark on the Rochester music scene. His extensive musical library, especially the work with his Hexx crew, stands as a testament to his artistic spirit.
Rashod was a man of great heart, touching countless lives often without realizing the profound impact he had. His warmth, kindness, and creativity left an enduring impression on everyone he encountered.
A celebration of Rashod's life will be held on August 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Timberridge Golf Course, located at 7061 W Ridge Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made during the service to assist with Rashod's expenses and to support the education fund for his two youngest children, Dakari and Braeliah.
Rashod L. King will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his loving spirit, vibrant music, and cherished memories continue to inspire and comfort us.
