In Loving Memory

Rasheed (Aubrey) Golden
September 3, 1953 — May 1, 2026
In loving memory of Rasheed (Aubrey) Golden, who peacefully departed this world on May 1, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on September 3, 1953, in the vibrant city of Richmond, Virginia, Rasheed graced this earth with a heart full of warmth and a spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rasheed was the beloved son of the late Open Golden Senior and Mary Webb. He was preceded in death by his cherished brother Earl Golden and dear sister Gwen, whose memories he held close to his heart throughout his life. His legacy continues through his surviving family: his devoted wife and the love of his life, Wanda DeVeaux-Golden, whom he married on March 1, 1985, in a beautiful ceremony in Philadelphia, PA. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, nurturing a family that would become his greatest pride.
Rasheed's journey took him from the streets of Richmond to the vibrant neighborhoods of Philadelphia, where he received his education in the public school system. Known for his entrepreneurial spirit, Rasheed carved his own path, embodying the values of hard work and dedication. His business ventures were a testament to his determination and passion for creating opportunities, not only for himself but for others in his community.
A man of deep faith, Rasheed lived a life of prayer and was an active member of Makkah Masjid in Philadelphia, PA. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both triumphs and challenges with unwavering grace and humility.
Rasheed's greatest joy was the time he spent surrounded by family and friends. He was a cherished husband, a loving father to his four children, a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, and a doting great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren. His home was always filled with the laughter of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
As we gather to celebrate Rasheed's remarkable life, we invite family and friends to join us for a service on May 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Francis Funeral Home, located at 5201 Whitby Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143. Together, we will honor the legacy of a man whose life was defined by love, faith, and an enduring commitment to family and community.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Rasheed's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and lifelong dedication to helping others. Rasheed (Aubrey) Golden will be forever remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the indelible mark he left on all our hearts.
