It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rasheed (Aubrey) Golden, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world peacefully on May 1, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on September 3, 1953, in Richmond, Virginia, Rasheed was a guiding light to all who knew him, revered for his boundless love, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. Rasheed was the cherished son of Open Golden Senior and Mary Webb, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his dear brother Earl and sister Gwen. Despite these profound losses, Rasheed's spirit remained steadfast and resilient, continuously nurturing the bonds of family and friendship. In 1985, Rasheed married the love of his life, Wanda DeVeaux, in a beautiful ceremony in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Wanda, along with Rasheed’s surviving brother and two sisters, carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. Additionally, Rasheed's legacy extends to his four children, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, each of whom holds a piece of his heart and shares in his enduring spirit. Rasheed was educated in the Philadelphia public school system, a foundation upon which he built a successful career as an entrepreneur. His ventures were marked not only by their success but by the integrity and passion he poured into his work. Always one to uplift others, Rasheed was a mentor and friend to many, offering guidance and support with a generous heart. A man of deep faith, Rasheed lived a life of prayer and devotion, regularly attending Makkah Masjid in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and solace, and inspiring those around him to seek peace and understanding. Rasheed's greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. His home was often filled with the sounds of laughter and the warmth of shared stories. Whether it was a quiet moment over a cup of tea or a lively family gathering, Rasheed cherished every moment spent in the company of those he loved. A service to celebrate Rasheed's life will be held on May 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Francis Funeral Home, located at 5201 Whitby Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143. This gathering will be an opportunity for all who knew him to come together, share memories, and honor the remarkable life Rasheed lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rasheed’s memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his lifelong commitment to generosity and community support. Rasheed (Aubrey) Golden will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
