November 1, 1954 — April 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Randy Lyn McCoil, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on April 6, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on November 1, 1954, in Howell, Michigan, Randy's life was a testament to love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. Randy was the son of Curtis and Helen McCoil, who preceded him in death, along with his brother Curtis McCoil and sister Laurie. Despite the sorrow of their loss, Randy found immense joy and fulfillment in the family he built and nurtured. He is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Cathy McCoil, who was his partner in every sense of the word. Together, they raised their daughters with love and dedication: Cathleen Reed, Corrine George, Cortney Grundel, and Christina Richards. A proud grandfather, Randy's legacy continues through his grandchildren—Kristen Byrd, Cheyenne Griffin, Dylan and Delanie George, Haleigh Wickham, Finn Grundel, and McKenna, Olivia, and Tatum Richards. His great-grandchildren, Landon James “LJ”, and Kenny and Kingston Byrd, will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandfather's infectious charm and boundless love. Randy's siblings, Frank and Kevin McCoil, and sisters Patsy Williams, Claudia McCoil, Sandra Segars, and Carol Cottongim, along with countless nieces, nephews, and extended family, will forever cherish his memory and the joy he brought into their lives. For 32 years, Randy was a dedicated employee at Martin-Brower, where he was known not only for his exceptional work ethic but also for the mentorship he offered to his colleagues. His leadership by example, always working side by side with his crew, earned him the respect and admiration of everyone he worked with. Randy had a quick wit and a charming demeanor that could light up any room. His gift for making people feel welcome and valued was unparalleled, and he never hesitated to share a joke to lift spirits. He loved completely and with every ounce of his being, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity touched countless lives, and his family was always at the heart of everything he did. A service to celebrate Randy's life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 895 S Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lakeland Regional Health in Lakeland, Florida, for their compassionate care during Randy's final days. Their support was invaluable, and the family remains forever grateful. As we gather to say goodbye, we remember a man who lived life with a full heart and an open spirit. Randy will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire and comfort us in the days to come.
