In Loving Memory of Randy L. Lyons Randy L. Lyons, a cherished father, devoted grandfather, beloved brother, and a friend to many, peacefully passed away at his home in Tilton on March 21, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on June 24, 1961, in Danville, Illinois, Randy was the beloved son of the late Harry and Betty (Lister) Lyons. Randy was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Teresa, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage, his parents, and his brothers, Steve, Mike, and Bruce Lyons. Their memories remained a guiding light in Randy's life, as he carried their love and teachings with him in his every endeavor. Throughout his life, Randy was known for his unwavering dedication and hardworking spirit, spending over 20 years as a coal miner. This commitment to providing for his family was matched only by his passion for community involvement, as he shared his love for sports by coaching football, baseball, and softball, touching the lives of many young athletes with his encouragement and guidance. A man of many talents, Randy also had a deep love for music. He played the drums with the band Eastwood, a family ensemble that brought joy and entertainment to the Central Illinois area. His rhythmic beats were not just sounds, but the heartbeat of gatherings, creating memories that his loved ones will cherish forever. Randy's family was the center of his universe. He leaves behind his two children, Jake (Laken) Lyons and Natalie Lyons, who were his pride and joy. He adored his five grandchildren—Brielle, Jaelyn, Lilly, Kadence, and Ryder—and his love for them was as vast as the skies. He delighted in passing on his passion for fishing, a treasured family tradition, to the younger generations. Randy is also survived by his three loving sisters, Jan Lyons, Kathy Lyons, and Betsy (John) Morgenroth, who shared in his laughter and love throughout his life. Their bond was unbreakable, rooted in family values instilled by their parents. An enthusiast of life, Randy found joy in bowling and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, proudly supporting his team with enthusiasm. His laughter and spirit were contagious, as was his ability to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. In accordance with his family's wishes, Randy will be cremated and laid to rest in a private burial. Though his departure leaves a void, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. The family finds comfort in knowing Randy is now reunited with his beloved Teresa and other predeceased family members. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages sharing stories and memories of Randy, as they are the greatest tribute to a life lived with love, laughter, and kindness. His legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and an enduring love for family. Randy L. Lyons will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
