Randolph Michael Proctor

Randolph Michael Proctor, affectionately known to many as "Bow Leg," passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on January 1, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida, Randolph was the beloved son of the late Louis Proctor and Georgia Pearl Keys. He was preceded in death by cherished family members including Alice Walker, Dorothy, Ernestine, Anthony, and his parents. Randolph was a proud graduate of New Stanton High School, part of the Duval County Public Schools system. His commitment to hard work and dedication was evident throughout his career at the Winn Dixie Distribution Center, where he was a respected and admired colleague. A deeply spiritual man, Randolph was an active member of the West Friendship Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and solace. His love for music and literature was well-known, and he delighted in songwriting and the joy that books brought to his life. Randolph leaves behind a legacy of love through his family. He is survived by his son, Reginald Proctor and his wife Lenora; his daughters, Sherry Simmons Valenzuela and her wife Venora, Lisa Proctor and her husband Roosevelt, and Chiffon Avery. He also leaves his step-daughter, Retha Hobdy and her husband Charles. Randolph cherished his grandchildren, Rickey Robinson, Bobby Joe Lee Hobdy Jr., Andrica Mitchell, Andre Proctor, Cedric Groomer, Tiana Hobdy, and Tamara Hobdy. His siblings, Lillian Proctor, Diane Alatisha, and Hope King will forever hold him in their hearts, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of sorrowing friends. In memory of Randolph's generous spirit, those who wish to honor his life are invited to make a donation to a charity of their choice. A private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate his life and legacy. Randolph Michael Proctor will be remembered for his warmth, his creativity, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those who knew him. His spirit will live on through the music he created, the books he treasured, and the love he bestowed upon his family and friends.
