Randle Cruse

April 16, 1947 — April 29, 2026

Randle Cruse, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on April 16, 1947, in Dukedom, Tennessee, Randle was the beloved son of the late Aubra Cruse and Mary Viola (McClain) Cruse. He was also predeceased by his brother, Rubin Earl Cruse, Sr. Randle spent his formative years in Kentucky, where he graduated from high school in Cuba. He went on to serve his country with honor as a United States Army soldier during the Vietnam era, from January 1969 to January 1971. During his service, he trained as a field artillery surveyor, a skill he would carry into his civilian career. After his military service, Randle dedicated many years of his life to protecting and serving his community as a Kentucky State Police Senior Trooper, retiring in 1994. Never one to rest, he then channeled his passion and expertise into his own business, Randle Cruse Land Surveying, which he successfully ran for 30 years. In 1998, his community's respect for his integrity and dedication was recognized as he was elected Trigg County Surveyor. Randle's life was enriched by his membership in several esteemed organizations. He was a proud Shriner, a member of the York Rite, and the Sons of the American Revolution. His commitment to brotherhood and service was further exemplified through his membership in the Cadiz Masonic Lodge #121. On December 23, 1994, Randle married the love of his life, Wilma (Butts) Cruse, who survives him. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Randle was a devoted father to his sons, John and Marc Cruse, and his daughter, Tracy Sabatino. He found immense joy and pride in being a doting grandfather to Isabella, Gabrielle, Dylan, Mason, Jason, Julianne, Marcus, and Conner, as well as a loving great-grandfather to Kash and Harper. Randle led a life rich with hobbies and interests that brought him immense joy. He was an avid horseman, finding peace and freedom in riding through the open fields. His evenings were often spent enjoying classic westerns, a genre that resonated with his love for adventure and the great outdoors. A true enthusiast, Randle had a passion for both antique and modern firearms, appreciating the craftsmanship and history each piece held. Above all, his greatest passion was being "Papa" to his grandchildren, with whom he spent countless hours creating lifelong memories. Randle Cruse will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments and service to his country but for his kind spirit, unwavering loyalty, and the love he generously shared with all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the warmth of his smile and the strength of his embrace. A service to honor and celebrate Randle's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to pay their respects and share stories of the remarkable man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Randle's memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, an organization that was close to his heart.
