Randal Alan Parks
February 4, 1953 — March 10, 2026
In the gentle embrace of early spring, on March 10, 2026, Randal Alan Parks, fondly known as Randy, peacefully departed this world from the comfort of his home. Born on February 4, 1953, in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon, Randy lived a life full of laughter, love, and adventure, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
Randy was the beloved son of Donald Albert and Pauline Alma (Settles) Parks, who predeceased him. Growing up in a home filled with warmth and affection, he carried these values forward into his own family life. A graduate of Columbia River High School in 1971, Randy embarked on a diverse career journey that saw him excel as a banker, a truck driver, and later, as a cherished Nike Shuttle driver. Through each role, he brought a unique blend of professionalism and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on colleagues and friends alike.
For 38 blessed years, Randy shared his life with his devoted wife, Kathy. Together, they built a family grounded in love and mutual respect. Randy was the proud father of two daughters, Andrea Fiske and Lisa Platt, who were the light of his life. His joy only multiplied with the arrival of his three grandchildren, Dominik Paul Fiske, Victoria Anne Fiske, and Penelope Rae Lynn Anne Fiske, who affectionately knew him as their silly and loving grandfather.
A man of varied interests and a great lover of the outdoors, Randy found joy in hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, canoeing, and sailing. His connection to nature was profound, often finding peace and inspiration in the great outdoors. Ever the avid reader, Randy's curiosity knew no bounds, as he devoured books across all genres. His love for puns and dad jokes was legendary, bringing smiles to family gatherings and friendly get-togethers. Those who knew him well will fondly remember his spontaneous renditions of songs from the Muppet Show, and the quirky little jingles he would create just for fun.
Randy was more than just a family man; he was a community member who cherished camaraderie. As a dedicated member of the Nordic Club for many years, he formed lasting friendships and shared countless adventures and stories.
Randy's life will be celebrated on April 4, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Sticklin-Brown Funeral Chapel, located at 1437 S. Gold Street, Centralia, WA 98531. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived, sharing stories and memories of a man who brought joy and laughter to so many.
Though Randy has left us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for life. As we bid farewell to our dear Randy, we hold close the memories of a man who brightened our lives and enriched our days with his kindness, humor, and boundless affection. May he rest in peace, forever sailing the tranquil waters of eternity.
