Rand Roosa
September 19, 1957 — September 22, 2026
Rand Roosa, a man of many talents and boundless compassion, passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on September 19, 1957, in Urbana, Ohio, Rand was the beloved son of the late James and Sandra Love Roosa. Rand's journey through life was one marked by creativity, dedication, and a deep love for both his family and his passions.
Rand spent his formative years in Urbana, graduating from Urbana High School before pursuing his studies in architecture at the University of Cincinnati. His career path was as diverse as his interests. Rand initially made a name for himself in Cincinnati by owning and operating the much-loved bakery, "Take the Cake." His love for baking was evident in every creation, from the flakiest pie dough to the most decadent cinnamon rolls.
Later in life, Rand's journey took him to New York, where he applied his architectural knowledge to the world of design. However, his heart remained with baking, leading him to Miami, where he served as the Executive Pastry Chef at Joe's Stone Crab. His expertise and passion for creating culinary delights left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to experience his creations.
Rand was more than his professional achievements; he was a man with a zest for life and an endless curiosity. He was a devoted flea market and antiques show aficionado with a particular love for mid-century design and housewares. Recently, Rand also developed a keen interest in gardening and agriculture, always eager to learn and grow.
Survived by his loving siblings, brothers Ron and Russell Roosa, and sisters Renee and Robin Roosa, Rand's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His family takes comfort in the thought that he is now reunited with their beloved parents, James and Sandra.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice in Rand's honor. A memorial service for family will be held at a later date to celebrate Rand's life and legacy.
Rand's warmth, creativity, and kindness touched countless lives, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
