With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rance Allen Hood, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who departed this life unexpectedly after a short illness on April 24, 2026, at the age of 66. Rance was born on May 6, 1959, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, to his loving parents, Hazel Lee Williams and Vernon Vincent. His life was a testament to dedication, service, and love, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rance spent his formative years in Delight, Arkansas, where he graduated high school in 1977. Shortly thereafter, he embarked on a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Army. As a Personnel Administrative Specialist and Intelligence Analyst, Rance served his country with honor and integrity, earning the respect and admiration of his peers. His commitment to learning never wavered, as evidenced by his pursuit of higher education. Rance earned several associate and bachelor's degrees from Garland County Community College and Southern Illinois University, demonstrating his thirst for knowledge and his dedication to personal growth. Following his military service, Rance transitioned into the private sector, where his talents as a computer programmer shone brightly. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, he successfully managed his own small businesses, specializing in computers and arms dealing. Rance's professional journey was marked by innovation, resilience, and a deep sense of responsibility. Family was the cornerstone of Rance's life. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Amanda Bailey of Malvern, Arkansas, and Jessica Hood of Dallas, Texas, who were the lights of his life. He shared a special bond with his twin brother, Rolland Hood of Delight, Arkansas, and his sister, Kay Capps of Silverdale, Washington. Rance's legacy will continue through his adored grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the countless lives he touched with his warmth and generosity. Rance's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his spirit endures in the memories and stories shared by those who loved him. The family expresses their deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. As they reflect on Rance's remarkable life, they find solace in knowing that he profoundly impacted the lives of many and will be missed by all. In accordance with Rance's wishes, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date to honor the wonderful man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Rance's generous spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others.
