With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Ramonita Torruella Rodriguez on April 20, 2026. Born on February 28, 1949, in the vibrant city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Ramonita was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Her journey on this earth ended surrounded by her devoted family, who were privileged to accompany her in her final moments, enveloped in love and warmth as she transitioned to eternal rest. Ramonita was the cherished daughter of Gloria Rodriguez and Teofilo Torruella. She was the second of an incredible 16 siblings, 13 of whom continue to carry forward their sister's legacy of love, compassion, and family unity. Her family was her world, and she was theirs, a guiding light whose radiance will forever illuminate their lives. Throughout her life, Ramonita touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Known for her boundless kindness and generous spirit, she was a friend to many and a matriarch to her beloved family. Her home was always open, a sanctuary of comfort and warmth, where the joys of life were shared and celebrated. Ramonita had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved, a testament to her immense heart and nurturing nature. Ramonita's legacy lives on through her six adoring grandchildren and two precious great-grandchildren, who will forever uphold the values and love she instilled in them. She was their beloved "Abuela" and "Bisabuela," a role she cherished and embraced with all her heart. In honoring Ramonita's life, a service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery. It will be a time for family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched to come together to celebrate the beautiful soul that was Ramonita. Her family expresses their deepest gratitude to the compassionate doctors and staff at the hospice who provided her with care and dignity during her final days. They also extend their heartfelt thanks to all the friends and loved ones who stood by their side, providing support and love. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find solace in the memories and love she leaves behind. Ramonita Torruella Rodriguez will forever remain the light of our family, her spirit woven into the very fabric of our lives, reminding us to love unconditionally and live with grace. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her memory to a charity that supports family and community, continuing Ramonita's legacy of giving and love.
