She was the devoted wife of the late Harold Madere, whom she married on November 28, 1959. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, and together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and adventure. A proud alumna of Leon Godchaux High School, class of 1956, Ramona's journey through life was marked by her dedication to both personal and professional pursuits. She began her career at BellSouth in New Orleans until she embraced the joys of motherhood, dedicating herself to her family, becoming a full-time mom. Her love of antiques and all things beautiful led her to work at Roussel’s Antique’s and Gifts where she connected with numerous people until 2020. Ramona's greatest joy was her family, to whom she devoted her entire life. She was the cherished mother of Dr. Brett Madere and Dr.Tessa Madere Owens (Chris) and the adored grandmother of Gabrielle Owens and Peyton Madere. Her love extended to her numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Her legacy of love and compassion lives on through them. A woman of many interests, Ramona found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a green thumb and took pride in her beautiful yard, where she spent countless hours tending to her plants and flowers. Her culinary skills were legendary, and her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of her home-cooked meals. Ramona's adventurous spirit led her on numerous trips to Disney World, a place where she delighted in creating magical memories with her loved ones. Ramona will be remembered for her kind and warm-hearted nature, qualities that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love made every encounter with her a cherished memory. A private funeral ceremony was held in accordance with Ramona's wishes. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at The Columns and The Cottage, ACG Hospice, and Lesley Bishop for their unwavering support and compassionate care during Ramona's final days. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman who touched so many lives, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace, reunited with her beloved Harold and her parents in the embrace of eternity.
