Ramlakhan Ramlal
April 9, 1945 — May 28, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Ramlakhan Ramlal, who departed this world on May 28, 2026, enveloped in the loving presence of his family at his home. Born on April 9, 1945, in the vibrant land of Trinidad and Tobago, Ramlakhan's journey was one marked by resilience, love, and a profound dedication to his family and community.
Ramlakhan was the beloved husband of the late Chanroutie Ramlal, with whom he shared a beautiful bond and life journey, beginning in their cherished homeland. Together, they nurtured a family that would become his greatest legacy. He was a devoted father to Ralph Ramlal, Russell Ramlal, and Jennifer Ramlal, who carry forward the values and wisdom he imparted.
An alumnus of Apex Welding School, Ramlakhan was a man whose hands crafted more than just metal; he built a life of hard work and dedication. His journey took him from the familiar streets of Monroe Road Cunipa to the expansive opportunities of the United States. In every endeavor, he embodied a spirit of perseverance and integrity, traits that resonated in both his professional and personal life.
Ramlakhan's love for sports was evident in his joy for playing cricket and his enthusiasm for watching soccer and boxing. These passions were a testament to his energetic spirit and love for his cultural roots. Equally, his fondness for Trini-style curry pork was a small yet cherished pleasure, symbolizing his connection to home and tradition.
Known for his candid nature, Ramlakhan's words were as honest as they were comforting. His family and friends often noted that "his mouth didn't have a cover," a saying that captured both his straightforwardness and his authenticity. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, he was a loving and nurturing presence, always ready with a listening ear or a helping hand.
Ramlakhan is survived by his children Ralph, Russell, and Jennifer; his grandchildren Ralph Ramlal Jr., Ryan Ramlal, Narish Ramlal, and Annand Ramlal; and his great-grandchildren Anissa Ramlal and Aditya Ramlal. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit, ensuring that his legacy of love and kindness will endure.
A service to celebrate Ramlakhan's life will be held on June 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Schmidt Funeral Home, located at 1344 W Grand Parkway S, Katy, Texas 77494. As we gather to honor him, we remember a man whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and the simple joys of family and tradition.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ramlakhan's name to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to giving back to the community.
Ramlakhan Ramlal, a man of unwavering love and integrity, leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories. Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life that was rich in love, laughter, and family. He will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with the strength of his spirit.
