It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ramiro Hernandez Martinez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He departed this world on June 10, 2026, at the age of 57, in the comforting presence of his family at his home, after valiantly battling a long-term illness. His departure leaves an indelible void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on December 22, 1968, in the vibrant city of Veracruz, México, Ramiro was the cherished son of Ludivina Mota Dan Gabriel and Jose Hernandez Zanchez. From an early age, he exhibited a strong character and a friendly spirit that would define his life and legacy. Ramiro's journey took him from the warm shores of Mexico to Monroe, North Carolina, where he initially shared his culinary talents as a cook at Napoli. His career later transitioned to the construction industry, where he became a respected roof contractor with D. Thomas Roofing.
Ramiro was a man of many passions, with a heart and soul that found joy in life’s simple pleasures. An avid fisherman, he never missed an opportunity to cast his line into the ocean or river, embracing the tranquility and beauty of nature. His love for sports, particularly baseball and horse-racing, was contagious, and he often shared this enthusiasm with his family and friends. Above all, Ramiro cherished his family, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He delighted in creating joyful memories with them, always eager to explore new places and celebrate life’s precious moments.
Ramiro's enduring legacy is survived by his devoted wife, Juana Martinez Hernandez, whose love and partnership were the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Denisse Hernandez Martinez, and her husband, Jose Calderon; his sons, Ramiro Hernandez-Martinez and his wife, Kelly, Erikverto Hernandez-Martinez, and David Hernandez-Martinez. Ramiro was the proud grandfather of eight beautiful grandchildren, whose presence brought him boundless joy and pride.
Ramiro was known for his infectious laughter and the warmth he brought into every room. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel like a friend, always finding ways to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. His adventurous spirit and love for discovering new places created a tapestry of cherished memories that will forever be held dear by his family and friends.
A service to honor and celebrate Ramiro's remarkable life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service, located at 1155 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their stories, remembering the joy and love that Ramiro so generously gave to all he encountered.
As we bid farewell to a truly remarkable man, we hold onto the love and laughter he shared with us, knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Ramiro Hernandez Martinez will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
