In Loving Memory
Ramiro Calvillo
September 7, 1981 — April 9, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ramiro Calvillo, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend. Born on September 7, 1981, in Houston, Texas, Ramiro left this world peacefully on April 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with health issues.
Ramiro's life was a testament to strength, resilience, and love. He was a man known for his steadfast exterior, yet beneath that stern facade lay a heart as tender as it was generous. He was a true embodiment of a "big teddy bear," revealing his softer side to those fortunate enough to be close to him. To know him was to understand the depth of his kindness and the warmth of his spirit.
On April 1, 2011, Ramiro married the love of his life, Jessica Escobar. Their union was a beautiful blend of friendship and devotion, having spent 15 wonderful years as a married couple and 27 years as each other's best friends. Together, they built a life filled with joy and companionship, a partnership that was admired by all who knew them.
Ramiro was a devoted father to his sons, Josiah, Julian, and Jayden Calvillo. He cherished his family above all else, placing them on a pedestal and working tirelessly to provide for them. Even in times of hardship, when work was scarce, Ramiro's dedication never wavered. He taught his children the value of perseverance, love, and commitment through his unwavering example.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jessica, and their sons, who will carry forward his legacy of love and strength. Ramiro is also survived by his siblings: Juan Calvillo Jr, Alma Calvillo, Candy Villalobos, Ruby Villalobos, Erik Medrano, Frank Medrano, and Nicolas Batres. Each of them holds memories of Ramiro's infectious laughter and the warmth he brought into their lives.
In his passing, Ramiro joins those he loved in the afterlife, including his mother, Anna Medrano; his grandparents, Estulio and Candelaria Medrano; his grandma, Elida; his Tio Jesse and Tia Josephina; his Tia Dora; and his stand-in grandma by marriage, Jesusita Valerio. We take solace in knowing that he is now at peace, reunited with those who preceded him.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Ramiro's life, as he wished for an intimate farewell surrounded by those he cherished most. While he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
Ramiro Calvillo was a man who lived with purpose and loved with a full heart. His legacy of resilience and devotion will continue to inspire, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In this time of mourning, we invite family and friends to share their memories and stories of Ramiro, celebrating the life of a man who touched so many with his kindness and strength. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
