Ralston Dudley Jannice aka (Pookie)

Ralston, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 8, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Born on April 11, 1969, in Pontiac, Michigan, Ralston lived a life full of love, laughter, and meaningful connections. The son of Alberta Whiting and Ralston Brown, Ralston embraced the values instilled by his family. Though his parents, grandmother Molly Whiting, and brothers Clarence Jannice Jr. and Myron Carthen have predeceased him, their memory lived on in the stories he lovingly shared. Ralston found his lifelong companion in Camille-Walker Jannice, with whom he was married for 23 years. Together, they cultivated a home filled with warmth and joy, raising a family that was the center of his world. He is survived by his devoted wife Camille and their cherished children: Ralston Jannice Jr., Rashad Jannice of Oxford, Mississippi, Dytarrius Jones of Batesville, Mississippi, Rosalind Jannice, Jessica Lindsey, Ranisha Jannice, Taushay Jannice of St. Louis, Missouri, Ralshanna Janince and Ralshay Jannice of Louisiana. Additionally, Ralston was a proud father to his bonus son, Isaiah Walker. His legacy extends to his 16 adored grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness. His siblings, Patricia (Bryan) Shegog of Oxford, Mississippi, Veronica Rayford of Senatobia, Ms, and Valentine (Clara) Jannice of Memphis, Tennessee, will remember him as a brother whose heart was as big as his smile. You will be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews aunts and uncles cousins & Friends. Ralston's life was enriched by deep friendships, including those with Charles Ballentine, Terry Hicks, and Robert Jones. His presence was a source of comfort and laughter, always ready with a story or a joke to brighten the day. Ralston cherished the simple pleasures of life, particularly the moments spent at home surrounded by his children. Making memories with family was his greatest joy, and he treasured the times spent with his two favorite nephews, George and Kendrick, encouraging them always to strive for more and to be better than he was. In honor of Ralston's memory, the family suggests that donations be made to a heart disease charity of your choice, reflecting his courageous battle and the love he had for his family and community.
