Ralph Newlin

Ralph Newlin, a cherished husband, brother, and friend, was born on August 23, 1946, in Lindsay, California. He departed this world suddenly at his home on July 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service. Born to Eli and Gwen Newlin, Ralph was raised with a strong sense of family and community. After graduating from Porterville High School, he embarked on a journey of discovery by joining the US Navy to "see the world." Upon receiving his discharge, he resumed his education at Chico State, where he earned a degree in Industrial Technology. It was during this time that Ralph began to shape a life dedicated to both personal and professional excellence. Ralph's professional journey led him to a longstanding career with State Farm Insurance, where he worked for over 35 years, nearly 30 of which were spent serving the community of Colusa, California. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to those around him. Known for his unique sense of humor and unwavering willingness to assist others, Ralph left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. In 1981, Ralph married the love of his life, Nancy Anderson, in Auburn, California. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, joy, and countless cherished memories over their 45 years of marriage. Ralph is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, his brother Paul Newlin and wife Linda, his sister Nancy Rinard and husband Dale, brothers-in-law Daniel Anderson and wife Melody, and Theodore Anderson and wife Dianne. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Ralph's life was one of service and community involvement. A dedicated member of the Church of the Nazarene, he served in various capacities, including as a local board member, children's Bible Quizzing leader, choir director, and on the Sacramento District Advisory Board. His faith and commitment extended into his retirement, where he actively participated in the Rotary Club, the Measure-B committee, and the Workforce Investment Group. Ralph also supported the Garden Club of Colusa County, the Stage Hands Theater Group, and the Friends of the Library. Music was a source of great joy for Ralph, with a special fondness for Elvis Presley, Southern Quartet Gospel music, and the Beach Boys. His spirit will be remembered by those who shared in his passion for these timeless tunes. A Celebration of Ralph's life will be held on August 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hope Point Church of the Nazarene, located at 600 N. George Washington, Yuba City, CA. Nancy and the Newlin family extend their deepest gratitude to everyone for the kind words, cards, flowers, and food during this difficult time.
