January 27, 1942 — June 10, 2026

Ralph, a cherished husband, father, veteran, and pillar of the community, passed peacefully at home on June 10, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on January 27, 1942, in Hudson, North Carolina, Ralph's life was a tapestry woven with dedication, love, and a spirit of adventure that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Ralph's early years in Hudson were marked by a deep love for his family and community, qualities that would define his path through life. He served his country with honor, first in the US Army and later in the US Air Force, where he retired with the distinguished rank of Master Sergeant. As a Vietnam veteran, Ralph's resilience and courage were a testament to his character, earning him the respect and admiration of his fellow servicemen and women. Following his military career, Ralph dedicated himself to law enforcement in Florida, where he served as a State Police Officer, Chief of Police in Cedar Grove, and a Florida State Trooper. His quick wit and firm handshake became trademarks of his approach to public service, reflecting his commitment to protecting and serving with integrity and compassion. Ralph was a man of many talents and passions. His artistic flair was evident in his talent as a painter, capturing the world around him with both vibrancy and depth. He delighted many with his voice, singing with a warmth that resonated in the hearts of listeners. Ralph was also a published author, using words to share his experiences and insights with the world. His love for travel enriched his life, as he explored new places and cultures, always returning home with stories and memories. Family was at the heart of Ralph's life. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Margaret, who stood by his side through every chapter. His legacy continues through his children: daughter Vickie, son Kent, and daughter Terrie, as well as his step-daughters Debbie and Yvette, and step-son Lowell. Ralph instilled in them a strong work ethic and enduring family values, gifts that will continue to guide and inspire them. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, an organization close to Ralph's heart. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the caring staff at Community Healthcare of Texas, whose dedication and kindness provided comfort during Ralph's final days. A special thank you to Jessica, whose compassion will never be forgotten. Ralph's life was a testament to the power of love, service, and creativity. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. As we say goodbye, we remember him not just for his accomplishments, but for the joy and wisdom he brought into our lives. Rest in peace, Ralph. You are forever cherished.
