Ralph Laverne DeBow

August 24, 1930 — April 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts but profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Ralph Laverne DeBow on April 9, 2026. Born on August 24, 1930, in the humble town of Hardesty, Oklahoma, Ralph was the cherished son of Roma and Hazel (Mason) DeBow. His journey from those early days in Oklahoma to a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure is one that will be remembered with fondness by all who had the blessing to know him. Ralph's life was a testament to the power of love and family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved Joye (Sidwaski), with whom he shared a remarkable 73 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rich in love and companionship, a partnership that was a beacon of commitment and strength. Their love story is one that will be remembered and cherished by their family for generations to come. After graduating from Adna High School in 1950, Ralph embarked on a journey that would touch many lives. A man of great curiosity and spirit, Ralph had a lifelong passion for the outdoors. He found joy in the simple pleasures of nature, whether it was camping under the stars, clam digging at the break of dawn, casting a line in a quiet stream, hunting in the crisp autumn air, or trail riding through the serene landscapes he so adored. In his later years, Ralph discovered a love for rockhounding, dedicating countless hours to polishing and cutting stones—a hobby that brought him immense joy and satisfaction. Ralph's warmth and generosity extended beyond his family to everyone he met. Known for his big heart and welcoming nature, Ralph never met a stranger—only friends he hadn't yet made. His laughter and kindness were a source of comfort and joy to all who knew him. He was a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering support for his family, whom he treasured above all else. Ralph was an active member of the Good Sam Club, where he shared his adventures and love for travel with like-minded friends. His dedication to community and connection was evident in the many relationships he nurtured throughout his life. Ralph leaves behind a legacy of love that is carried forward by his surviving family: his devoted wife, Joye; his children, Cheryle (Joe) Davis, Jayne Allmer (Kevin Cloud), Romie DeBow, and Cindi (John) Hewlett; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Each of them a testament to the enduring impact of his life, they will forever hold his memory close in their hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Adna Evangelical Church or the Adna Scholarship fund, organizations that reflect Ralph's values and commitment to community and education. As we bid farewell to Ralph, we celebrate a life that was lived fully and generously. His spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, a reminder of the beauty of a life dedicated to love, family, and the great outdoors. Rest in peace, dear Ralph, knowing that your legacy of love and kindness lives on in all of us.
