He was born on June 15, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Ralph Edward Heins Sr. and Pauline (Robichaud) Heins, who predeceased him and have now lovingly embraced him once more. Ralph was a man of warmth, kindness, and gentle humor, deeply cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Ralph's professional career began in sales at Armco Steel, where he covered the Kansas and Missouri regions. His career path later led him to San Antonio, Texas, before he relocated his family to Topeka, Kansas, to embark on a new venture with a dear friend from Kansas State University. By 1980, Ralph had moved on to work full-time with RMF Steel in Kansas City, a position he held until his retirement in 1994.
