RAFFAELE FRANCESCA GUCCIONE

December 8, 1932 — June 25, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Raffaele Francesca Guccione, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world peacefully at her home on June 25, 2026, after a brief illness. Raffaele was born on December 8, 1932, in the charming town of Gesuiti, Calabria, Italy, to her loving parents, Francesco and Margarita DeLio. Raffaele's life was a testament to love, devotion, and selflessness. She was predeceased by her parents, her cherished sister Maria, her devoted husband Remo Lucio, and many dear relatives. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her five children, Carolina Guccione, Mirella (Matt) McKnight, Pete (Tracey)Guccione, Frank Guccione, and Mary (Jeremiah) McGlasson her four grandchildren, Fabian McGlasson, Gianni McGlasson, Eric McKnight, and Kaylee McKnight, and her three great-grandsons, Nikolai, Giovanni, and Westyn McGlasson, who were the light of her life and the center of her world. On May 6, 1956, Raffaele and Remo Lucio Guccione were united in marriage in their hometown of Gesuiti, a union that would endure for decades and serve as a beacon of love and commitment. Together, they raised a family that was nurtured daily by Raffaele's unwavering devotion and boundless affection. After her husband's passing on March 17th, 2001, she was the glue and remained strong for the family. She found her greatest joy in being a homemaker, a role in which she excelled as a wife, mother, and Nana. Her kitchen was always filled with the tantalizing aromas of her cooking and baking, a testament to her love of feeding everyone who gathered around her table. Her dishes were more than meals; they were expressions of love, comfort, and home. Raffaele and her husband, Lucio, migrated to Salida, Colorado, in April 1966 with their four children. She was six months pregnant with their last daughter. They worked hard to provide a loving home for their 5 children. They brought their traditions from Italy, including wine-making, Italian sausage, gardening, and baking. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate Raffaele's life on July 2, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church in Salida, Colorado. This service will be an opportunity to honor a life well-lived and to say goodbye to a woman whose love and warmth touched everyone she met. There will be a private committal service later for the family at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Raffaele's memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Raffaele Francesca Guccione leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering family devotion. Her gentle spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband, Remo and her family in the warmth of heaven.
