Racquel Blackman

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Racquel Blackman, who departed this life on October 8, 2026. Her journey, richly woven with the threads of compassion and dedication, leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.
Racquel was the beloved daughter of the late Lucy Dockery and Jule Blackman, and the cherished sister of the late Jule Blackman Jr. Her family roots, deep in Mississippi soil, were a source of pride and strength throughout her life. Racquel's legacy continues through her loving children, daughter Toria Austin-Neal and her wife Anquinisha, son Justin Austin and his wife Sheneeka, and her precious granddaughter, Jewel Austin, who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her twin sister, Rachel Blackman-Singh, and her brother-in-law, Louis, who were steadfast pillars of support.
Racquel was a woman of unwavering faith and commitment, both to her family and her community. Her selfless spirit was exemplified in her work as a nurse of 30 years and her personal life, always seeking to uplift those around her. She was known for her warm smile, her gentle demeanor, and her ability to find joy in simple pleasures. Racquel volunteered countless of hours to St. Jude Research Hospital.
A service to honor Racquel's life will be held on October 23, 2026, at Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C, located on Tulane Rd, at 12:00 PM. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Racquel are invited to gather and celebrate the remarkable life she lived.
