Ronald Lewis Nimmons Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronnie, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on August 28, 2026. Born on May 28, 1948, in Greenville, South Carolina, Ronnie lived a life full of passion, commitment, and love. Ronnie was the cherished son of Sarah Ann Nimmons, who predeceased him and from whom he inherited his strength and determination. He graduated from Parker High School in 1968, setting the stage for a career in the textile industry, where he dedicated 20 years of hard work before retiring. His colleagues remember him as a steadfast and reliable worker, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. A devoted member of Emmanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle, Ronnie was deeply involved in his community and faith. His presence at the church was a testament to his unwavering belief and dedication, and he formed many lasting friendships within its walls. Outside of work and church, Ronnie was a man of varied interests. He was an avid NASCAR fan with a special place in his heart for Dale Earnhardt Sr. Sundays were often spent cheering for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, surrounded by family and friends. His love for politics was well-known, though he was never shy about expressing his dislike for Donald Trump—a topic that often sparked lively discussions. Ronnie leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory always. He is survived by his children, Sara Ann Nimmons and her husband Joe, Helen R. Dean and her husband John, and Ronald L. Nimmons Jr and his wife Chloe. His legacy continues through his three beloved grandchildren, JJ Dean, Ronald L. Nimmons III, and Brent Dean, who, alongside his wife Allison, brought immense joy to Ronnie’s life. A service to honor Ronnie’s life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Emmanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle, located at 10 North Circle Dr., Piedmont, South Carolina 29673. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Ronnie are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the life of this remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ronnie’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to his heart. The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to Piedmont Post Acute Care for the compassionate support and care provided during Ronnie’s final days. Ronnie will be remembered for his warm laughter, his steadfast love for his family, and his enduring faith. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
