Quintin Stroud, beloved partner, uncle, and community leader, peacefully transitioned to God on September 6, 2026. Born on October 31, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, Quintin graced this world with a kind spirit and a resolute dedication to those he loved and the community he cherished.
Quintin was the beloved son of the late Louis and Lillian Stroud. He was preceded in death by his sister, Connie, brother, David, as well as his cherished nephew Marcus and niece Wendy. Though his family circle has been touched by loss, Quintin's enduring love and devotion to his surviving family members remain a testament to his generous heart. He is survived by his beloved partner of over 40 years, Vasha "Robert" Gaines, and his nephew Daniel Turner-Stroud, along with niece Darlene and other nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
A proud graduate of Cass Tech High School, Quintin went on to craft a meaningful career as a millwright at Ford Motor Co. There, he completed his apprenticeship and honed his skills as a lathe operator, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His dedication extended far beyond the workplace, as he became a strong voice and a passionate community leader. Quintin's efforts with organizations like SEMHAC and other recovery support programs left an indelible mark, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to helping others find strength and hope.
Quintin's life will be celebrated on September 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the James H. Cole Home for Funerals, located at 2624 W Grand Blvd, Detroit, MI. Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to join in remembering and honoring his remarkable journey.
