It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Quinte Montis Smith, who departed this life peacefully at hospice on August 8, 2026. Born on June 6, 1977, in the vibrant city of Durham, North Carolina, Quinte lived a life full of love, warmth, and inspiration. Quinte, affectionately known to many as "Que," was the beloved son of Randa Smith Sheridan Brown. He was predeceased by his cherished grandmother, Florence Smith, whose spirit he carried with him throughout his life. A devoted family man, Quinte leaves behind his loving spouse, Nateesha Hall, and his precious daughter, Analeigha Smith, who will forever hold him in their hearts. His presence will also be sorely missed by his siblings, Aushinea Royster, Phylando Smith, and step kids Nateeana, Amiliyon, and Naheim, who shared in the joy and laughter that he brought to their lives. Educated in the Durham Public Schools, Quinte embraced a life of self-employment, where he excelled in masonry—a testament to the strength and resilience that mirrored his character. Known for his artistic flair, Quinte found joy in cooking, drawing, and immersing himself in the world of music. His creativity was matched only by his generous spirit and genuine nature, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Quinte's heart of gold and great spirit were evident in every interaction, making him a beloved figure in his community. He was a "real guy" whose authenticity shone brightly, and whose warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. A celebration of Quinte's life will be held on August 27, 2026, at Ellis D Jones, beginning at 12:00 PM. Family, friends, and all those who were touched by his kindness are invited to join in honoring his memory and legacy. In accordance with the family's wishes, donations in Quinte's memory may be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting the compassionate and giving nature that defined his life. Though Quinte has left this earthly realm, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know him.
