It is with deep sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Quint Lamar Jackson, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, at the age of 61. Born on September 19, 1964, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Quint's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering faith. He departed this world on July 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength and compassion, surrounded by his devoted wife Rhonda and their beloved pocket bully, Sheba, as he praised God with his hands lifted high. Quint was the beloved son of the late Harry Jackson, Sr. and June (Wilson) Jackson. He was predeceased by his siblings Kevin, Richard, and Billy Jackson, as well as his niece Ashley White and sister-in-law Nina B. Battle, Thomas Battle,jr father in law among other cherished family members. Quint's maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson, Sr., and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Jackson of Arkansas, also preceded him in death. Quint is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Rhonda Yvette Jackson, and their daughter, Sheba Quint Jackson, Jr. He leaves behind his siblings Harry Jr. (Erika) Jackson, Dawn Joy (Jeffrey) Copeland, and Matthew (Angela) Jackson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry forward his spirit and values. His close bond with his mother-in-law, Rheata Battle, sister-in-law Kim Battle, and cousins Ira Wilson and Chris Bryant was a source of joy and comfort throughout his life. His Uncle John and Aunt Geneva Hardin were also dear to him. A graduate of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School's class of 1983, Quint was not only an avid baker but also a standout middle guard for the school's football team. He continued his education at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, where he played college football. Quint proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, enlisting on February 10, 1987. As a rifleman and mortar launcher, he bravely participated in Operation Desert Storm and the Gulf War. His service earned him numerous accolades, including the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge, and Good Conduct Medal, among others, culminating in an honorable discharge on April 26, 1991. Quint found his professional calling in food service, working as a director and manager, and later operated Smoke City Smoke Out catering alongside family and friends. His entrepreneurial spirit shone through in founding PBI—Poor Boys Incorporated, later renamed Prayer Brothers Incorporated—a testament to the enduring bonds with his childhood friends and family. Quint's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was a prolific writer and digital creator, sharing his insights on Yashewah and his personal journey of love and faith with a broad audience on Facebook for over 12 years. An avid weightlifter, fisherman, and animal caretaker, he was known for his artistic creations and culinary expertise. Quint's warm smile, commanding presence, and protective nature made him a beloved figure in his community. His courage in the face of adversity was inspiring, as was his commitment to feeding and welcoming all into his presence. A celebration of Quint's life will be held on August 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at C and H Lucille's Memorial Chapel, located at 411 S Adams St, Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the support, prayers, and shared memories of Quint.
