Quincy Johnson May 3, 1978 – February 24, 2026 It is with deep sorrow, yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of Quincy Johnson on February 24, 2026, at the age of 47. Born on a sunny spring day in Miami, Florida, Quincy was a beacon of light and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey came to a peaceful close after a courageous battle with renal failure, and he now rests in the arms of his predeceased parents, Elliott and Aldwina Johnson, and his paternal grandparents, Louis and Wilfred Thompson. Quincy was a devoted father, cherished brother, beloved partner, and steadfast friend. His life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and the power of love. He leaves behind a legacy through his children, Quinisha and Jayla Johnson, who were the center of his universe, and his stepdaughter, Charmaine, whom he loved as his own. Though his partnership with Judy Williams transitioned into friendship, their bond remained unbroken, grounded in mutual respect and shared memories that spanned years. He is survived by his brothers, Ulric Johnson, and cousins Karen and Marlon Johnson, who shared in countless family gatherings and adventures filled with laughter and warmth. His sister, Leslie Johnson Smith, alongside her husband Bertram, provided Quincy with unwavering support and love throughout his life. Quincy was a doting uncle to his nieces, Falashade Smith Jaudon (Steven) and Doctor Jamani Smith, who found inspiration in his gentle strength and wisdom. Marlon Johnson, another cherished member of the family circle, held a special place in Quincy's heart. Quincy was blessed with an extended family who enriched his life, including his special Aunt Edith Smith and his uncles James Randall, Andy (Tessie) Ford, and Brian Hunter. Each relationship was a thread in the vibrant tapestry of his life, woven with love, shared experiences, and enduring bonds. A host of other family and friends mourn his passing and celebrate the indelible mark he left on their hearts. A service to honor Quincy's life will be held on his birthday, May 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at The Episcopal Church of St. Benedict, located at 909 Lily Cache Ln, Bolingbrook, IL, 60440. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available at this link, allowing friends and family from afar to join in commemorating a life that touched so many. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Morning Star Mission, an organization close to Quincy's heart. Contributions can be made at Morning Star Mission's website. Quincy Johnson's life was a melody of compassion, humor, and enduring love. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
