Quincey David Isaiah Bowers

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that the family of Quincey David Isaiah Bowers announces his passing on August 23, 2026. Born on March 17, 1995, in Far Rockaway, New York, Quincey was a cherished son, father, brother, uncle and friend whose warmth and generosity touched all who knew him. Quincey was the beloved son of Yvette Dupree (Cook) and Kelvin Ray Bowers Sr. He was predeceased by his grandmothers, Phyllis Jackson Cochran and Lucy Grace Beatty Bowers, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. He leaves behind his treasured son, Mekhi David Jamal Bowers, who was the light of his life. Quincey's legacy of love and kindness will live on through Mekhi and his close-knit family. He is survived by his mother, Yvette Cook, and stepfather, Wesley Cook; his father, Kelvin Bowers Sr., and stepmother, Sandra Wilson. His brothers, Michael Bowers, Matthew Bowers, Kelvin Bowers, Jarell Cook, Christopher Cook, Robert Newby, George Wright, Brandon Wright, and Maurice Wright, along with his stepsister, Zoe Cook, will forever cherish his memory. His nephews, Noah, Zaire, Julian, and Keith Jr., and his niece, Melanie, will carry forward his spirit of joy and kindness. Quincey was blessed with a special friend, Kianne Alvarez, his confidant and "ace," whose companionship he treasured deeply. His cousin, Shannel Turner, and fiancée, Sherika Tucker, along with her children Robyn, Zarianna, Shaniya Walker, and Xavier Tucker, held a special place in his heart. Quincey's friendships were a testament to his loyalty and love. His brothers-in-spirit, Christopher Poole, Alonzo Johnson, Steffon Lovell, Brandon Brown, Bryant Wanjohi, Brandon Drummond, Eddy Petiz, Shaun, and Tyron Monk, along with his sisters-in-heart, Ryann Bowers, Keisha Kelly, Terica Price, Ciara Butler, Nina Farmer, Brandy Calhoun, Casey Harrison, Brittini Lee, and Kathleen Arthur, will forever feel the void of his absence. He is also survived by his grandfathers, David Cochran Sr. (Elizabeth Harris) and Willie Ray Bowers, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Quincey's love for his family was immeasurable, and his legacy will be carried on through them. Quincey's education journey took him from New York City to Georgia, where he attended Austin Middle School and McEachern High School. He proudly graduated from Youth Challenge Academy in Augusta, GA, in 2013. He worked various warehouse positions. In 2019 he obtained his CDL and his career led him to the open road, where he found joy in long-distance driving. Recently, he worked as a yard jockey for Shamrock in Fairburn, GA, choosing a local route to spend more time with his beloved son. A man of many talents and interests, Quincey played football for AAU in both NYC and Georgia. He had a deep love for the water, spending countless happy hours fishing and swimming. Family gatherings filled with cooking and music were among his most cherished moments. Known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and a heart as big as his laughter, Quincey was a beacon of kindness and generosity. Whether it was giving clothes off his back or money to those in need, his selflessness knew no bounds. He was a lover of dance and music, and he found solace and guidance in the pages of his Bible, which he read every day. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported them during this time of mourning. Special thanks go to George Wright Sr. for his friendship and guidance, and to Larry and Robin Smith for treating Quincey as their own son. A celebration of Quincey's life will be held on September 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Hope Funeral Home, located at 165 Carnegie Place, Fayetteville, GA 30214. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Quincey’s memory to a charity of your choice. Quincey’s light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His spirit will forever inspire those he leaves behind to live with kindness, generosity, and love.
