January 12, 1967 — March 30, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Quetta Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many. Quetta departed this world on March 30, 2026, at the age of 59, in a tragic accident in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan. Though her departure was sudden, the warmth and wisdom she imparted will continue to inspire all who knew her. Born on January 12, 1967, in vibrant Detroit, Quetta was the cherished daughter of Ruby Morton. She was welcomed into a family rich in spiritual heritage, being the granddaughter of Bishop C.L. Morton Sr. Her connection to her roots was profound, and she carried her family's legacy with grace and dignity throughout her life. Preceded in death by her loving mother three years ago, Quetta is now reunited with her in eternal peace. Quetta's life was a testament to resilience and dedication. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide for her four beloved sons, Cory, Charles, Jason, and Sean Michael. Her devotion to them was absolute, and she took immense pride in their achievements and in the legacy of love and strength she instilled in them. Her family grew to include thirty treasured grandchildren, each of whom brought her joy and laughter. Education was a cornerstone of Quetta's life. She pursued higher learning with vigor, graduating from Seneca College in Toronto, Canada, with an ADN, and later achieving her Ph.D. in Philosophy. Her thirst for knowledge was insatiable, and she inspired those around her to reach for their dreams with courage and perseverance. Quetta's career was marked by her unwavering commitment and hard work. She found fulfillment in her roles, which allowed her to support her family and make a lasting impact on those she worked with. Despite her busy schedule, she always found time to nurture her spiritual life and community involvement. A devoted member of Mt. Zion Full Gospel since 1990, Quetta's faith was unshakeable. Her spiritual journey was deeply personal, yet she generously shared her insights with others, offering guidance and comfort. Her quick wit and warm smile were her trademarks, and those who were fortunate enough to spend time with her knew they could always find a supportive ear and a kind heart. Quetta had a passion for reading and enjoyed escaping into the pages of various novels, from the "Fifty Shades of Grey" series to "Twilight." She also cherished her Saturday morning shopping outings, which she began at the early hour of 6 AM, sharing these moments with her boys and creating memories that will be treasured forever. Above all, she relished spending time with her family, whose company was her greatest joy. A celebration of Quetta Johnson's remarkable life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Glad Tides Church of God in Christ, located at 625 E 7 Mile Rd, Highland Park, MI 48203, United States. Friends and family are warmly invited to join in honoring a life well-lived and to share in the memories that Quetta leaves behind. The Johnson family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the medical staff in Colorado who did their utmost to care for Quetta. They also express heartfelt thanks to everyone attending the service and supporting them during this difficult time. May you all have a blessed day, and thank you for being a part of Quetta's journey. In the words of her family, "Quetta was a beacon of light, and though she is no longer with us, her spirit continues to guide and inspire. Her love remains forever in our hearts."
